Fiona Pascall | Ultra Trail Runner
Taking inspiration from her older sister Beth, Fi first dipped her toe in the trail and ultra world in 2021, with no experience of trail or ultra running and having barely done anything more than a bit of jogging for fitness, Fi completed a Bob Graham round - 42 Lake District Fells and over 100km in around 20hrs, at this point she realised she might have a future in running!
The following year she burst onto the scene with two stunning Lake District records, first the ‘Tea Round’, a 42km run with 2900m of elevation. Fi attempted this round in January, meaning that having obliterated the previous times- she now holds both Summer and Winter records. Later that year Fi returned to the Lake District to attempt to break the record for the ‘Lakes 24hr round’, the challenge being to bag as many eligible summits as possible in under 24hrs; 68 peaks, 146km and 23hrs 26mins later, she achieved her goal in storming fashion. Fi’s first year in the sport continued in the same vein with impressive wins and new course records at both Centurion Running’s ‘Wendover Woods 50M’, and Endurance Life’s ‘North York Moors 55K’.
Since her barnstorming debut year, Fi has gone from strength to strength, wins at ‘Arc of Attrition 50’, ‘Julian Alps 100 by UTMB’, ‘Mozart 100 by UTMB’, ‘Wildstrubel 100 by UTMB’ and ‘Chianti 100 by UTMB’. In 2023 Fi qualified to compete for Great Britain at the ‘World Mountain and Trail Running Championships’ in Innsbruck, where she managed an impressive 1st in Team GB and 18th overall in a very competitive field. Her most recent victory in Chianti earnt Fi a coveted golden ticket to ‘Western States Endurance Run’, the oldest, most prestigious and one of the two most competitive races in the world. This will be her biggest challenge yet- watch this space!

Social Media
Following
Fi’s instagram following grew slowly but organically between 2022 and 2025 with little effort or management, with the launch of Trail Retreats and Fi’s success at Chianti by UTMB in March, her following has now doubled to around 5000.
Trail Retreats has grown to 1300 since it’s launch in January. With Western States coming up on June 28th, and a 6 week acclimatisation trip to document in the build up, we anticipate a significant boom in followers of both accounts, especially if Fi does well in the race.
